University Dining

Q. What meal plan options are available for my student?
A. Various meal plan options exist for both residential and commuter students. You’ll find information about residential student meal plans at http://hrl.uncg.edu/services/meals/mealplans.html. For commuter meal plan options, visit http://www.campusdish.com/en-US/CSSE/UNCGreensboro/MealPlans/MealPlanInformation.htm.
Q. Can my student change his/her meal plan?
A. Yes, students can change meal plan selections during the drop/add period at the beginning of each semester by filling out a Meal Plan Change Form at the Housing and Residence Life Office, going online at the Housing and Residence Life website, or by visiting the FirstCard Center on the main level of Elliott University Center.
Q. Where can my student use his/her declining balance?
A. Declining balance can be used in any dining location (BLK NOTE: wouldnt you also add the convenience stores?).
Q. If my student doesn’t use all his/her meals in one semester with the Meal Select Plan, do these meals carry over to the following semester?
A. Meals do not carry over from one semester to the next.
Q. What happens to my student’s unused declining balance at the end of the semester?
A. The unused declining balance transfers from the fall to spring semester. However, at the end of the spring semester, any unused declining balance becomes non-refundable and cannot be transferred to the next academic year.
Q. What can my student do if he/she loses his/her FirstCard?
A. Lost or stolen cards should be reported to the UNCG FirstCard Center immediately to prevent unauthorized use. Cardholders are responsible for the replacement fee for lost, damaged, or stolen cards; cards can be replaced at the FirstCard Center in Elliott University Center for a fee of $15.
Q. What do I do if my student’s declining balance runs low?
A. Each time your student makes a purchase, he/she may ask the cashier how much declining balance remains. If the declining balance is low, E-cash can be added using cash, check, money order, or credit card at the FirstCard Center, or at one of the cash-to-chip machines located on campus.
